Dublin Kalmar Boots
I have always loved vintage fashion boots, but when my last pair needed to be retired I decided it was finally time to upgrade to something new. All of my boots end up doubling as not just fashion boots but also something to walk the dogs in or stop in the barn to check the horses. Because of this I was looking for something that not only looked sharp and stylish, but also a genuine leather upper and comfortable walking sole.
After years of riding and working in Dublin River Boots, I opted to try one of their fashion designs. I decided on the Kalmar Suede Tall Boots. The stone color was similar to my current boots, so nicely matched to my usual bag & accessories. The thin street sole is paired with the Rider Comfort System in the footbed, so offers the streamline look of a fashion boot while still giving the comfort of a walking sole. The calf of the boot offers a very fitted look through the ankle and upper, with a hidden stretch panel on the back of the calf to help provide freedom of movement and enhance overall comfort. The full zip on the calf makes them an easy on/off, especially as it is positioned on the outside of the calf.
The suede itself is a very soft and supple leather, making them a comfortable wear right out of the box. The punched stitching on the Spanish Top and full suede tassel at the top of the zipper offer a classic and elegant design. The plaid lining on the interior of the boot also adds a nice level of color without compromising the traditional styling of the boot.
I’ve gotten numerous complements on the boots already – from riders who are familiar with the brand to non-equestrian friends and family. These are definitely my new favorite boots to wear out – and I’ve already been eyeing the short Kalmar Paddock Boots for my next purchase!
