Today is Earth Day 2021!
The theme this year is “Restore Our Earth”, which focuses on natural processes, emerging green technologies, and innovative thinking that can restore the world’s ecosystems. It is up to each and every one of us to Restore Our Earth, not just because we care about the natural world, but because we live on it. Everybody needs a nourished Earth to survive, a healthy planet is not an option — it is a must.
What does it mean to throw something away? What is away? Every piece of plastic ever created still exists on our planet and every day we continue to produce more and more. It is time to stop the pollution of our natural habitats, clean up the mess we’ve made and find more sustainable solutions.
Therefore, at WeatherBeeta, we have chosen to find a way to reduce the amount of plastic thrown away plastic and recreate it into something new and long-lasting. Each WeatherBeeta Green-Tec blanket saves over 340 plastic bottles from going into a landfill or the ocean. That's not the only reason why this blanket is a better choice for the environment; this rugs' fabric uses 50% less energy to produce than a traditional turnout blanket. So far, we have reused approximately 1,145,670 plastic bottles globally.

- Recycled bottles are prepared (washed and label removal)
- Recycled bottles are crushed, washed and shredded into flakes
- The flakes are then dehydrated and dried
- Melted for polymerization
- Converted into recycled chips
- Chips are then extruded into yarn
- Ready to be transformed into our stunning Green-Tec range
